Cramer-Krasselt Ads Voted Most Popular, Funniest of the Year
CareerBuilder.com Spots Named Among the Best of 2005
CHICAGO, Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The CareerBuilder.com "working with monkeys" television ads that started the year ranked among the most popular in USA Today's Super Bowl Ad Meter poll closed out the year still a strong consumer favorite. The ads, created by Chicago-based independent Cramer-Krasselt, recently scored among the Top Ads of 2005 as determined by the newspaper's end of year Ad Track Survey. In addition, one of the spots was selected as the funniest television commercial of the year in a TBS online poll.
The USA Today survey, which gauges "likability" of ads with the viewing public, places the CareerBuilder.com spots fifth most popular overall and in the top ten for male, female and young adults demographics. One of the spots also placed first in the online voting used to select ads for TBS's "Funniest Television Commercials of 2005" special, which aired December 28.
"Humor is a great way to grab a viewer's attention," said Peter Krivkovich, C-K president and CEO, "but an ad can't just be funny for funny's sake. There needs to be a strategic insight behind it and, at the end of the day, it needs to move the needle for your client's brand. This campaign did that overwhelmingly."
After debuting these ads on Super Bowl XXXIX, CareerBuilder.com saw record jumps in traffic, applications and resumes. And job seekers found more jobs than ever as CareerBuilder.com's job postings surged, further strengthening the company's leadership position in the industry. CareerBuilder.com was so pleased with the results that it was the first company to make a buy for Super Bowl XL.
"The Super Bowl in 2005 served as a fantastic platform for CareerBuilder.com to get our message out to the largest numbers of both job seekers and employers. With the subsequent dramatic jump in both job seeker site traffic and employer job postings, we were eager to secure a significant presence in the 2006 Super Bowl," said Richard Castellini, VP of Consumer Marketing at CareerBuilder.com.
The CareerBuilder.com campaign marked the second time that C-K has scored big during the world's most watched television event. The agency also created the iconic Master Lock "Shot Lock" spot that was named the best Super Bowl ad of the decade by the New York Times.
