Circuit City Hosts 'MP3 Made Simple' Sessions to Help Demystify the World of Digital Music
RICHMOND, Va., Dec. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- This holiday season, Circuit City Stores will offer a helping hand to the millions of Americans who receive new MP3 players under the Christmas tree.
According to the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), more than 20 million MP3 players were shipped to U.S. retailers in 2005, with almost half expected to be sold during the holidays. The CEA says MP3 players grabbed the top-spot on adult wish-lists for tech gifts this year for the first time. Circuit City research indicates all age groups expressed growing interest in MP3 players.
As a result of these findings, Circuit City decided to create a special week-long event, "MP3 Made Simple," to help people, especially novice users, overcome obstacles and uneasiness about digital music.
From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Dec. 26 - 31, 2005, specially-trained associates will be on hand at Circuit City stores across the nation to offer tips on downloading music, ripping CDs, managing music play lists and more. Demonstrations will help explain how to use all MP3 players, including iPods. Circuit City associates will be glad to help demystify digital music for all visitors, regardless of where their MP3 player was purchased.
For people who cannot attend the sessions in stores, Circuit City has posted helpful information on getting started with digital music at circuitcity.com. To access MP3 Get Started, click on the "What's New" tab in the upper left corner of the home page. Also available through circuitcity.com, MP3 player set up service from PlumChoice, which offers high- quality, consumer-friendly remote computer support for the home, home office and small business.
