Service Electric Deploys Moxi(TM) Media Center

Cable Industry Pioneer Becomes 6th MSO to Deploy Emmy(R) Award-Winning Media Center

ALLENTOWN, Pa., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Service Electric Cablevision, Inc., a successor company to the founder of one of the first North American cable systems in 1948, today announced it has deployed the Moxi(TM) Media Center to its cable subscribers in the Sunbury, Hazleton and Birdsboro/Kutztown service areas in Pennsylvania. Service Electric is the sixth MSO to deploy the Moxi Media Center, which has now been installed in more than 225,000 homes across North America.

"We are pleased to be able to offer the advanced Moxi Media Center to our customers. The program navigator, digital video recorder and High Definition features make Moxi a superior service to offer customers," said Gary W. Day, director of marketing for Service Electric.

Other cable operators that have deployed the Moxi Media Center are seeing reduced churn and greater take-rates for On-Demand content. In those markets where the Moxi Media Center is available, churn among DVR customers has decreased more than 40 percent. On-Demand take-rates have grown to more than twice the industry average.

"Service Electric is one of the cable industry's pioneer operators, and we're very excited they chose to deploy the Moxi Media Center," said Bert Kolde, SVP of sales and marketing for Digeo. "With Moxi, cable operators can offer their subscribers a viewing experience far superior to satellite, which will lead to improved customer satisfaction and greater revenue."

The Moxi Media Center is a two-time Emmy(R) award-winning television media center that generates higher revenues and reduces customer churn. It integrates high-definition TV with a dual-tuner digital video recorder, enabling the user to watch one channel while recording another. Subscribers can quickly search for and select On Demand video content and access instant weather, sports and news via an interactive information ticker. The Moxi Media Center also enables cable operators to offer subscribers other services including a wide selection of games, telephony applications, and management of digital photos and music.

More than 225,000 Moxi Media Centers have been deployed nationwide by Charter, Adelphia, BendBroadband, NewWave Communications, Sunflower Broadband and now, cable pioneer Service Electric.
