Notes of Interest:

From the Southern hip-hop rap, also known as "Dirty South," comes the latest crunk band to debut on The Lycos 50. Searches for D4L (#33), meaning "down for life," have jumped 193 percent over the past month. The southern- fried flow has also influenced a new dance step which D4L performs on their new video, while their upcoming single, "Bet Ya Can't Do it Like Me," is clearly one to watch.

Other Notes of Interest:

The first hot toy of the holiday gift-buying season racing up the search logs is The Sims 2 (# 36), which also makes its first-ever appearance on The Lycos 50. After a long wait, The Sims 2 is available for the Xbox, PlayStation, Game Boy and even the PSP, and is expected to be everywhere this fall.

One to Watch:

Also making her first-ever appearance on this week's list is teen music sensation Ciara (#43), the current opening act of Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers tour. Ciara's single currently topping the charts is her duet with boyfriend Bow Wow titled, "Like You." Taking a page from her boyfriend's career, Ciara just finished filming her starring role in the MTV film, "Rumble," due out next year.
