Paris Hilton May Take on a New Role as Real Life Witness in a Hollywood Criminal Investigation

'E! News' Uncovers the Latest Details on the Case, Including an Exclusive Interview With the Accused's Lawyer Airing Tonight, Monday, November 7 at 7PM ET/PT

E! Also Gets the Inside Scoop on the Taping of Next Season's 'The Simple Life' From Nicole Richie's Father, Lionel Richie

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- "E! News" has the latest on party girl Paris Hilton, who may take on the unexpected role of witness in the criminal investigation of Darnell Riley, the man who allegedly burglarized the home of "Girls Gone Wild" guru Joe Francis. Police issued Ms. Hilton a subpoena on Thursday, November 3, and now "E! News" is uncovering new details on the case and has an exclusive interview with Mr. Riley's lawyer, Ronald Richards. The exclusive interview airs on tonight's (Monday, November 7) edition of "E! News" at 7:00 PM ET/PT.

"A year after Joe was abducted in his house and had duct tape tied around him, he then fingered Darnell Riley or accused him as the person that was involved in this," said Riley's attorney, Ronald Richards, in an exclusive interview with E! News. "Paris allegedly told Joe Francis that an associate of Darnell Riley's admitted at a party that Darnell Riley was involved in the burglary (at Joe's home). Joe Francis then called LAPD and said 'Paris Hilton told me this is who it is'."

Darnell is currently being held at the LA County Jail, charged with extortion, kidnapping and robbery.

Said Richards of Paris Hilton's subpoena, "We have a preliminary hearing set for November 21st. Paris Hilton has not agreed to any interviews with the prosecution or the defense ... So I'd be interested to see if she even had a conversation about Joe Francis."

And back to reality television, "E! News" exclusively learned from Lionel Richie last night (Sunday, November 6) that the "The Simple Life" is set to begin taping with daughter Nicole and Paris. According to Richie, "I have no idea what the plot is but they start filming in a week or so. Don't ask me how it will work, but it will work. They'll be together."
