Channel Frederator Launches the First Cartoon Podcast

New Video Podcasting Series From Producer of 'The Fairly Oddparents,' 'My Life as a Teenage Robot,' 'Oh Yeah! Cartoons' and More

NEW YORK, Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Frederator Studios founder Fred Seibert launches Channel Frederator, the world's first cartoon video podcast created expressly for distribution of world-class content on portable video devices such as the Apple iPod and the Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP). Released weekly, the episodes will contain several short form original and vintage cartoons submitted by producers from around the world, packaged into 10 to 15 minute episodes by the Channel Frederator programming team. Channel Frederator debuts as the #1 podcast in the iTunes' Arts and Entertainment directory.

The first episode features four submitted cartoons beginning with "Barrista," a 2D student film by Pendelton Ward (buenothebear.com), a director currently completing his first Nickelodeon animated short. Next up is Santa Monica-based Blur Studio's (blur.com) computer generated short "In the Rough." Independent filmmaker and musician Eileen Brennan (2nimbus.com) adds the flash production "Go Spy Go." The last cartoon in Episode #1 is Dave Thomas' flash film "Mantelope" from Wild Brain (wildbrain.com), San Francisco's largest animation studio.

One of the world's leading independent cartoon producers, Fred Seibert is the executive producer of six hit series on Nickelodeon Networks, including its number one show "The Fairly Oddparents." Prior to forming Frederator Studios, Seibert served as president of Hanna-Barbera Cartoons where he innovated the return of cartoons to the television mainstream, producing over 100 shorts that spun off now legendary series like "Dexter's Laboratory," "Johnny Bravo," and "The PowerPuff Girls," and the studio's only Oscar nomination for "Courage the Cowardly Dog."

Having established relationships with hundreds of the world's top animated filmmakers since 1998, Channel Frederator is the ideal distribution platform for cartoons and the place to see character-based shorts created in all styles, including traditional 2D, flash, computer generated images (CGI) and clay.
