VR Events Launches the Inaugural Youth Actors Expo on November 19 in Los Angeles

The Groundbreaking Event Gathers Leading Experts in the Kid Show Biz Industry; Registration is Now Available Online at www.YouthActorsExpo.com

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Event producer VR Events presents the first Youth Actors Expo at the highly recognized Millikan Middle School and Performing Arts Magnet (5041 Sunnyslope Ave, Sherman Oaks, CA) on November 19, 2005 from 10am-6pm. In addition to an exhibit hall, the Expo will feature a series of insightful panels and seminars throughout the day.

Amongst the many industry leaders scheduled to participate in panel sessions include, Macy Gray (Recording Artist and Founder of M Gray Music Academy), Hollywood agent Judy Savage (The Savage Agency), Gary Almond (Better Business Bureau of the Southland), Mark Lambert (LA Deputy City Attorney), Jean Frost (AFTRA), John Holly (Actors Equity), Justin Shenkarow (Screen Actors Guild Young Performers Committee) and Gary Marsh (Breakdown Services).

Celebrity child actors scheduled to appear include Malcolm David Kelley (Lost), Vincent Martella (Everybody Hates Chris), Christa B. Allen (13 Going On 30), Jordan-Claire Green (The School of Rock) and Cody Arens (D-War).

VR Events' Brian Roth states, "I want our event to serve a greater good, and I think the Youth Actors Expo does exactly that." He and his partner Eric Vollweiler created the concept of the Expo after realizing there were very little resources available for child actors. Their unique partnership saw the importance and value in educating child actors and their parents.

"Our event is not a contest and we don't promise break-through careers. The Expo is designed to help children and parents who have an interest in entering the entertainment industry to gain a better understanding of what it takes to be a kid in today's showbiz," says Eric Vollweiler.

The Expo will also showcase exhibitors that offer products and services essential for child actors, including photographers, acting schools, voice coaches, acting websites and trade publications.

THE YOUTH ACTORS EXPO AGENDA

As part of the many panel discussions that will be available through the day, the Expo will include two featured FREE seminars. One entitled "How to Avoid Scams, Industry Insight, and Union Membership" will feature insight from the Better Business Bureau, the LA Deputy City Attorney, SAG, AFTRA, and Actors Equity. The second FREE seminar is entitled "The Ins and Outs of The Coogan Law: A Must Attend for Parents of Child Actors."

The free lunch-time entertainment includes a screening of winning films completed by kid filmmakers from this year's International Family Film Festival and a dance performance by Hip Hop Kidz.

Topics for the panel discussions will cover a wide array of issues concerning today's young actor, including a discussion with young celebrity actors, acting coaches, talent agents, voiceover, casting directors, education, and photographers.
