Sesame Workshop Names Lisa Mogull Director of Talent Relations

NEW YORK, Oct. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street, is pleased to announce the addition of Lisa Mogull to its staff. She will take on the role of Director of Talent Relations, recruiting celebrities for Sesame Street and other special Workshop events. Mogull will report to Liz Nealon, Executive Vice President/Creative Director.

"We encourage co-viewing for parents and their children to help children gain the most out of the Sesame Street learning experience," said Nealon. "Lisa's experience in securing marquee personalities will continue our tradition of keeping Sesame Street fresh and exciting for our multi-generational audience." Any celebrity talent opportunities proposed at Sesame Workshop will be centralized through Mogull, including but not limited to television, home video, philanthropy, products, and press.

Mogull brings extensive talent relations experience to Sesame Workshop. Most recently, Mogull was Senior Producer of Yahoo! Live Events. She was responsible for developing Yahoo! Chat Events into a worldwide market leader. Prior to Yahoo!, Mogull worked at TV Guide Online, Good Morning America, and The Maury Povich Show. She plans to use her extensive network of contacts to continue to deliver on the time-honored tradition of featuring celebrities on Sesame Street. Past participants have included such noteworthy names as Maya Angelou, Annette Bening, Ray Charles, Glenn Close, Harry Connick, Jr., Destiny's Child, Sally Field, Jodi Foster, Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Joel, Norah Jones, Alicia Keys, Julianne Moore, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, NY Yankees Manager Joe Torre, Kathleen Turner, Denzel Washington, Robin Williams, Venus Williams, and many others.

Mogull holds a degree in Film and Television from New York University. She has always been a devoted Sesame Street fan, and considers herself a "walking encyclopedia" for the program. "Guests act like I am offering them a treasure when I call to ask them to appear on Sesame Street," says Mogull. "It is the ultimate 'feel good' appearance, and as an added bonus, kids (big and little) adore watching it! It is hard to imagine who wouldn't want the opportunity to be on our show. I look forward to bringing a new parade of cultural icons and great entertainers to the 'Street'."

Mogull currently resides in Manhattan with her husband John, 2-year-old son and avid Sesame Street viewer, David, and their two cats, Baby and Paddington.
