"Lorenzo is an intuitive, daring and passionate producer and we are very excited that he is staying with us here at Paramount. We are so proud of "FOUR BROTHERS," and look forward to the many other fantastic projects we are developing together," said Berman.
Di Bonaventura adds: "Brad Grey has assembled a fantastic team and I'm lucky to be working with them. One of the primary reasons I'm staying at Paramount is because it is such a creatively invigorating environment. They are interested in making bold films and are always supportive of me in the endeavors I want to take on. "
Di Bonaventura's most current film, the Mark Wahlberg starrer "FOUR BROTHERS," opened in first place this last weekend, grossing 21.2 million dollars domestically. Directed by John Singleton, "FOUR BROTHERS" is a character-driven action drama about four brothers who reunite to avenge their mother's death.
Di Bonaventura produced three other movies during his first term at Paramount which all have 2005 release dates. "DERAILED," starring Jennifer Aniston and Clive Owen, will be released by The Weinstein Co. "DOOM," starring Karl Urban and The Rock, will be released by Universal, and "CONSTANTINE," starring Keanu Reeves, was released by Warner Bros. in February.
Di Bonaventura is actively developing several other motion picture projects at Paramount. The most imminent productions are "BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY," and "CONVOY." He is also developing at Paramount, "THE FORGERS," a dramatic crime story written by Richard D'Ovidio, and "GI JOE." Di Bonaventura is also developing for Paramount and DreamWorks, "THE UNTITLED TRANSFORMERS PROJECT," a live-action version of the original TV series, to be directed by Michael Bay.
Before Di Bonaventura joined Paramount, he served for almost 7 years as President of Production, and in the last year he added marketing to his responsibilities. While at Warner Bros., he was responsible for some of the company's most successful features and franchises, including "HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE," "THE MATRIX," "THE PERFECT STORM, " "THREE KINGS," and "TRAINING DAY."
Di Bonaventura joined Warner Bros. in 1989 as a production executive and quickly made his mark with his involvement in the productions of Joel Schumacher's "FALLING DOWN," and the Steven Seagal hit, "UNDER SIEGE."
Before joining Warner Bros., Di Bonaventura held a number of creative, production and distribution posts at Columbia Pictures.
