Major Media Player Enters Managed Network Services Arena in South Florida
DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla., Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Web United President Michael Spiegel built a thriving Managed Network Services business over the last seven years serving thousands of business customers throughout South Florida. Today, however, he cites the resources of Web United's new parent company Landmark Communications as the principal edge over his competitors as South Florida's largest Managed Network Services provider.
Since being acquired by Landmark's subsidiary, Continental Broadband of Norfolk, Virginia, in late 2004, Web United has continued to upgrade its equipment to remain cutting edge in South Florida's business solutions market. Continental Broadband owns and operates a group of commercially focused Managed Network Service providers in markets across the country, including Chicago, Baltimore, Norfolk and Richmond.
"We're part of a much larger team now as part of the Landmark-Continental family," says Spiegel. "ISPs come and go, however with the resources of our parent company, including a growing acquisition strategy, we're capable of competing for any customer in the South Florida market."
"We are delighted to be in the South Florida market and are committed to exploring the opportunities for expansion and product development that Web United brings," says Continental Broadband CEO Charlie Watkins.
Landmark is an 80-year-old private company, which owns media properties including television stations, newspapers and The Weather Channel.
Web United is a full-service Managed Network Services company specializing in business solutions, including Internet connectivity, collocation, managed security and VoIP. Web United provides services to some of the largest businesses in South Florida.
