CUERVONATION, British Virgin Islands, May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Jose Cuervo, the world's number one tequila brand, played host May 5 to a "Cuervo de Mayo" holiday concert on tiny CuervoNation, an eight-acre island off the coast of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. As sailboats and cruise ships bobbed offshore 2005 triple Grammy(C) nominees Hoobastank, Atlantic recording artist Rupee and Miami-based DJ Mark Leventhal rocked the crowd. The worldwide Cinco de Mayo celebration included celebrity guests Brittny and Lisa Gastineau, Michael Clarke Duncan, Eric Szmanda and Melissa Joan Hart.

Los Angeles-based celebrity guests traveled nonstop to CuervoNation aboard Air Cuervo, a luxurious G4 from private carrier Prime Jet, LLC. On Wednesday, May 4th, Hoobastank hosted a VIP Cuervo Tequila tasting reception at Shannon House, their private villa on Tortola, where Cuervo's master mixologist Ana Maria Cesena sampled some of the company's rarest tequilas, including the coveted Reserva de la Familia, presented each year in a signature fine art box. On Thursday, May 5, the Gastineau Girls personally hoisted Cuervo's national flag over the island and inducted the VIP guests as citizens of CuervoNation. VIP guests then enjoyed a tour of the surrounding islands on a 68-foot Sunseeker Predator motor yacht and stopped for some snorkeling along the way. The yacht returned to CuervoNation for the Cuervo de Mayo activities and concert performances.

Michael Clarke Duncan and Melissa Joan Hart introduced Hoobastank, but not before Duncan, stripping off his shirt, showcased his one-armed push-up techniques. Accessible only by invitation, the Cuervo de Mayo Holiday Concert welcomed 300 contest winners selected from 31 cities nationwide to celebrate the spirit of independence, as well as their inalienable right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of a Good Time.
