Bill Goldberg, Wrestling Superstar and Part of the Stellar Cast of 'The Longest Yard,' Visits Sailors Aboard the USS Ronald Reagan
HOLLYWOOD, Calif., May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Bill Goldberg, the former WCW Heavyweight Champion who stars alongside Adam Sandler and Chris Rock in "The Longest Yard," visited the sailors and ship's crew aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan today. Taking time to meet the sailors who keep us safe, Goldberg also hosted a surprise screening of the film, which opens in theaters nationwide on May 27th.

"The Longest Yard" is the story of pro quarterback Paul Crewe (Adam Sandler) and former college champion and coach Nate Scarborough (Burt Reynolds), who are doing time in the same prison. Asked to put together a team of inmates to take on the guards, Crewe enlists the help of Scarborough to coach the inmates to victory in a football game "fixed" to turn out quite another way.
Paramount Pictures and Columbia Pictures present a Happy Madison/MTV Films Production in association with Callahan Filmworks, "The Longest Yard," a Peter Segal film starring Adam Sandler, Chris Rock and Burt Reynolds. The film is directed by Peter Segal ("50 First Dates," "Anger Management") from a screenplay by Sheldon Turner based on the film written by Tracy Keenan Wynn from a story by Albert S. Ruddy. Jack Giarraputo is the producer. The executive producers are Adam Sandler, Van Toffler, David Gale, Barry Bernardi, Allen Covert, Tim Herlihy, Michael Ewing, and Albert S. Ruddy. The film also stars James Cromwell, Nelly, and William Fichtner. The film has been rated PG-13 by the MPAA for crude & sexual humor, violence, language & drug references. Paramount Pictures will distribute the film in the United States.
The film also boasts a who's-who of competitive and world-famous athletes, including three-time Super Bowl-winner Michael Irvin, four-time Super Bowl-winner Bill Romanowski, football players Brian Bosworth and Terry Crews, World Champion Wrestlers Bill Goldberg, Steve Austin (who wrestled as "Stone Cold Steve Austin"), and Kevin Nash, and K-1 Kick-boxing champion Bob Sapp.
