"You Oughta Know" -- VH1 fills you in on artists on the rise. Get acquainted with these essential new artists.

Keane -- Hailing from the teeny southern-Brit town of Battle, Keane has mastered the art of soft-rocking, piano-driven, melodic pop as sweet and infectious as it comes. If you don't believe us, just check the U.K. charts, where the trio's album Hopes and Fears spent four weeks at #1.

Anna Nalick -- This charming newcomer writes her feisty pop tunes with no formal training, just a love of music. From the age of thirteen, Anna Nalick was rewriting the lyrics to tunes by Green Day, Nirvana and Matchbox Twenty. She has since honed the craft of storytelling and this singer/songwriter showcases her own poignant music on her debut Wreck of the Day.

Stephen Malkmus: Face The Truth -- (Matador)

Shout Out Louds: Howl Howl Gaff Gaff -- (Capitol)

Not just another frantic Swedish garage band, this quintet turns down the guitars and get their tips from the melancholy side of '60s pop. http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/shout_out_louds/897190/album.jhtml

Various Artists: Lords Of Dogtown Soundtrack -- (Geffen)

From the Allmans to Social D, the soundtrack to the new skateboard flick charts the course of '70s rock and beyond. http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/soundtrack/903945/album.jhtml

Live @ VH1.com

Antigone Rising: Live @ VH1.com -- (Lava) This all-woman band's tender notions of love and loss are well suited to an acoustic setting. Watch them hit the VH1.com studios. http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/antigone_rising/videos.jhtml#live
