Dido to Release First Live DVD/CD From Her SRO 'Life For Rent' Tour
NEW YORK, May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- 'Dido: Live', the first live DVD/CD release from global superstar Dido, will be released June 7, 2005. The DVD was filmed last August over 3 nights at London's renowned Brixton Academy. The shows shaped part of the extensive "Life For Rent" tour that saw Dido travel to eighteen countries, to play 100 dates in front of hundreds of thousand of fans.
The "Dido Live" DVD features 17 tracks from her multi-million selling albums, No Angel and Life For Rent. These CD releases have sold over 20 million sold worldwide to date. Highlights of the performance include 'Here With Me,' 'ThankYou,' 'White Flag' and 'Don't Leave Home.'
Dido decided to shoot this live CD/DVD at the Brixton Academy, which had always been one of her favorite native venues. Dido wanted to film these shows in an intimate setting and the Academy fit the bill perfectly. Because of her history with the venue, the Brixton shows represented a triumphant homecoming for the multi-platinum artist.
Filmed by the critically acclaimed director David Barnard (who has also shot lauded DVDs for Bjork, Travis and Nick Cave) and mixed by Bob Clearmountain, the DVD was shot, mastered and edited in high definition.
