British Women are Jewel in British Film Industry Crown

- De Beers, Factory magazine and the UK Film Council celebrate British
women's achievement in film with sparkling event
Celebrating the successes of many top level British women in film and to
introduce many emerging female stars in front of and behind the camera, De
Beers of Bond Street and, Factory: the film industry magazine and the UK Film
Council are showing an exclusive preview of Factory's Cannes 2005 edition at
De Beers' stunning Old Bond Street store in London's West End tonight, Monday
9 May 2005.
A host of celebrities along with famous faces from the British film
industry will be in attendance as Factory displays its exclusive photo shoot
set against the backdrop of De Beers' extraordinary jewellery and diamonds.
In partnership with the UK Film Council and DeBeers, Factory magazine has
commissioned special photo shoots and interviews with some of the UK's most
important film names, emerging actors and international talent including
Emily Mortimer, Brenda Blethyn, Meera Syal, Amma Asante, Alien vs Predator
director Paul Anderson to contribute to British film's ever-growing
recognition world-wide.
The Women in Film shoot, photographed by renowned British photographer
John Stoddart, focuses on the increasing role women are playing at the top of
the industry - from writing and directing feature films to managing
production, distribution, cinema exhibition and sales companies, casting for
Hollywood blockbusters and running major festivals.
