West Coast Fashion Stars Showcase Creativity for a Cause at W Hotel Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The fashion-forward elite will gather on Tuesday evening, June 7 at the equally chic W Hotel Los Angeles Westwood for the 4th annual Little Black Dress gala. This high-profile spectacle is returning to its Los Angeles home after last year's triumphant New York debut starring fashion icons Oscar de la Renta, Donna Karan, and Diane von Furstenberg to name a few. Unlike a runway show, the dresses will be worn by mannequins resulting in a memorable sunset soiree filled with music, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and "fashion as art."
This year's event will feature a handpicked selection of 40 West Coast- based designers and their interpretation of the "perfect little black dress." Up-and-coming designers will be featured alongside famous names to raise money for the charitable organization, Stop Cancer chaired by former Paramount Pictures President, Sherry Lansing.
"The West Coast fashion scene has exploded since the first Little Black Dress in 2002," said Emmy Cortes, Little Black Dress founder and producer. "It is a privilege to be working with such a talented group of designers focused on helping a worthy cause."
The diverse array of confirmed designers includes Kara Saun from the hit television show Project Runway; red carpet darlings Eduardo Lucero, Sue Wong, and NAQADA; Joe Boxer founder Nick Graham and surf sensation Billabong. Other confirmed celebrity favorites include hand-knit designs by Suss, jeans by Jelessy, and bold looks by Petro Zillia.
To underscore the "little black dress" theme, guests will feast their eyes on a choreographed display of models by fashion designer Jose Angel. Ten 6-foot paintings by Biagio Black, will add to the backdrop of fashionistas while Tim Burgess, lead singer of the iconic Brit Pop band The Charlatans UK, plays his favorite tunes for the crowd to enjoy.
Celebrities, fashion-insiders, and other VIP guests will be admitted strictly by invitation. An extremely limited number of tickets will be released to the general public for $150 each via Ticketweb.com. Tickets will sell out.
