Company Plans to Increase Sales Force

FAIRFAX, Va., Feb. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- webMethods, Inc. (NASDAQ:WEBME), a leading business integration software company, today announced the promotion of Craig Witt to Senior Vice President, North American Sales. The company also announced it is seeking to grow its sales force by more than 20% over the next 12 months, adding over 20 new sales representatives in North America.

In his role as Senior Vice President, North American Sales, Witt will report directly to Rich Chiarello, Executive Vice President for Worldwide Operations. "Having a strong performer in this top sales position is especially critical as we seek to significantly grow the sales team over the coming months," said Chiarello. "Craig has proven he knows how to build and manage a successful team, and his experience and track record of success will help webMethods better capture the tremendous opportunities we have in the marketplace."

Witt, formerly a Regional Sales Director for webMethods, joined the company in 2002 and has been instrumental in providing leadership to help webMethods create a successful sales process and develop highly productive sales people. He has more than 16 years of sales and sales management experience at a variety of enterprise software firms, including directing key efforts to grow revenues significantly at Business Objects and Open Text.

Witt, who is based in Chicago, holds a degree in accounting from Millikin University in Decatur, Ill.
