Two Companies Span Continents to Sponsor DuSable Museum Performance of Soweto Gospel Choir

CHICAGO, Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- On March 8, 2005 at 7:30 PM during a special performance presented by the DuSable Museum of African American History at Christ Universal Temple, located at 11901 S. Ashland, 30 plus members of the Soweto Gospel Choir, will lift their voices in song. This powerful performance is made possible by the generous contributions of Gardner Rich & Company and Pamodzi Investment Holdings; an alliance between two civic minded organizations that spans continents.

Gardner Rich and Pamodzi united to create a private equity fund that invests solely in South Africa. The goal is to raise $1 billion dollars. To date $200,000,000 has been committed.

Gardner Rich and Pamodzi are proud to be a small part of the continuing celebration of 10 years of freedom and democracy in South Africa by sponsoring the Soweto Gospel Choir's performance at Christ Universal Temple. "The DuSable Museum has once again outdone itself" said Mr. Christopher P. Gardner, Founder & CEO of Gardner Rich & Company.

Mr. Gardner has traveled extensively in South Africa and was one of 200 independent observers from around the world for the April 2004 South African elections. As he reflected on his journeys, he said "It is indeed very special for our firms (Gardner Rich & Pamodzi), the DuSable Museum and Christ Universal Temple to come together in this effort. This performance will be the only African American venue that these folks play."

Supporting the DuSable Museum performance of the Choir reflects both organizations' history of giving back to the community. "Whether it is providing equal access to education for our youth or building a computer wing for a school, we want to help educate others through meaningful experiences." said Mr. Gardner.

The Soweto Gospel Choir is presented by the DuSable Museum of African American History. Tickets for the Tuesday, March 8, 2005 performance are priced from $20 to $50 and are available at the Museum, on-line at http://www.dusablemuseum.org/ or by calling (773) 947-0600 ext 236. About the Soweto Gospel Choir

Created in 2002, The Soweto Gospel Choir received the American Gospel Music Award's "Best Gospel Choir 2003". They recently completed a triumphant world tour where they dazzled audiences at the prestigious Edinburgh Festival in Scotland and various concert halls and festivals throughout Europe, Australia and Africa. In November 2003, the Choir wowed fellow performers Peter Gabriel, Bono, The Eurythmics, Jimmy Cliff and Queen at the 46664 Concert in Capetown, South Africa, organized by Nelson Mandela (taking its name from his prison number) to heighten awareness of the AIDS epidemic.

The Soweto Gospel Choir performances deliver a non-stop pageant of all types of inspirational material, punctuated by traditional dancing (an integral part of church worship in Africa) and energized numbers backed by a live band. The choir has been known to win audiences with their exotic blend of South African spirituals, traditional Zulu, Xhosa and Sotho gospel songs which are interspersed with popular songs and folk anthems.
