San Diego CVB Selects NMG's Online Destination Business System
SAN DIEGO, Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau (SDCVB) announced today that it has selected the Online Destination Business System (DBS) from New Media Gateway (NMG) to drive and manage its travel leisure and meeting and convention business.
"There are many reasons why our evaluation team decided to work with NMG and deploy their Online Destination Business System," stated Colin Black, Executive Director of Information Technology, SDCVB. "However, to put it simply and plainly, these guys -- and the system -- get it!"
According to Black, the following three elements were key factors in SDCVB's final decision to move forward with NMG and its innovative Online Destination Business System:
* DBS adapts on the fly and is built on a proprietary, scalable web
platform. As SDCVB's technology needs change and grow, the Bureau
sought a product that could easily integrate and operate with other
systems.
* DBS was built with San Diego in mind. NMG has three former CVB
executive directors on staff who understand the day-to-day challenges
of a CVB, specifically in marketing and selling a destination. Most
impressive is the acceleration of a RFP response time from days to
minutes.
* DBS puts all SDCVB staff on the same page-literally. All of the
Bureau's sales, marketing and operational programs and departments tie
into a single system that is accessed through a password-protected Web
site. Staff is able to log in from anywhere in the world and manage
accounts, contacts, sales and services.
"It's widely known in the hospitality industry that San Diego is one of the most progressive-thinking organizations," states Dave Whitney, President, NMG's Hospitality Division and former CEO of the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau. "We're thrilled about working with San Diego, and their selecting NMG speaks loudly that our solutions rank tops in the industry."
In addition to deploying the Online Destination Business System, San Diego is also using NMG's patent-pending E-Mail Marketing System. Benefits of using this system include the ability to create and send interactive presentations and proposals, track user responses, and focus energies with the right targets to close deals faster.
NMG will also deploy its full compliment of Web Site power tools that fully integrate with the DBS to empower the SDCVB Web site.
