P. Diddy Starts a Trend and Cindy Crawford Switches Roles for Diet Pepsi; Pepsi and Apple Highlight Second iTunes Giveaway with 200 Million Songs

PURCHASE, N.Y., Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Marking the 19th consecutive year that Pepsi has advertised during the big game, four new commercials for Diet Pepsi and the Pepsi iTunes promotion will debut on Super Bowl XXXIX. The spots will air in the first and second quarters over a total of two and a half minutes during Fox's telecast on February 6. A description of the Pepsi Super Bowl advertising lineup follows:

Diet Pepsi -- "Diet Pepsi Truck" (:45)

Sean "P. Diddy" Combs unknowingly starts a trend among Hollywood stars and people everywhere after his car breaks down and he hitches a ride to an awards show in a Diet Pepsi truck. Also featured are Eva Longoria ("Desperate Housewives"), Carson Daly ("The Carson Daly Show") and Wilmer Valderrama ("That 70's Show").

Diet Pepsi -- "Guy Watcher" (:30)

A good-looking guy walking down the street while drinking a Diet Pepsi catches the attention of a number of admirers, including supermodel Cindy Crawford.

Pepsi iTunes -- "Bottle Songs" (:45 & :30)

Featuring a number of popular tracks from a series of music genres, these commercials illustrate how winning a free song from the Pepsi iTunes promotion is as easy as opening a bottle of Pepsi. (:30 version still in development).

About the Pepsi iTunes Promotion

The Pepsi iTunes music giveaway, which began Monday, returns with a number of new twists. From now through April 11, 2005, Pepsi is offering 200 million free songs from the iTunes Music Store -- twice as many as last year's promotion. Winning codes appear under the caps of 20-ounce and one-liter bottles of Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Wild Cherry Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Diet Mountain Dew, Mountain Dew Code Red and Sierra Mist. Odds of winning a free song from the iTunes Music Store are 1 in 3. Winners will automatically be entered in a sweepstakes to win one of 1,700 iPod minis being given away -- one for each hour of the promotion.
