Backstage Oscar Coverage on Tomorrow's Eyewitness News This Morning Launches Gig

NEW YORK, Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- PARADE Contributor Sandy Kenyon will deliver regular entertainment reports on WABC-TV's Eyewitness News This Morning, beginning this Friday, Feb. 25, with exclusive Oscar coverage. Kenyon will report from the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles, providing viewers with a special back-stage tour of the Academy Awards venue with the show's long-time producer, Gil Cates. During the tour, Kenyon and Cates bumped into this year's controversial Oscar host, Chris Rock, who told Kenyon how he's dealing with the pressure of the job. (Tune in to Eyewitness News This Morning on Friday for details!) Kenyon will bring additional exclusive Oscar coverage to Eyewitness News viewers on Monday, Feb. 28.

"We are thrilled about this unique partnership," says Liz Aiello, Executive Producer of Eyewitness News. "Sandy is an exciting addition to Eyewitness News This Morning. He's a well-known name in the entertainment industry and his dynamic personality brings an extra 'zing' to our show."

As part of this partnership between PARADE and WABC-TV, Kenyon will appear at least three times a week on Eyewitness News This Morning with Steve Bartelstein and Lori Stokes. He will be identified on-air as a PARADE magazine contributor and will have an opportunity at the end of each segment to identify the newspapers in the coverage area that distribute PARADE each Sunday. They are the New York Post, Newsday in Long Island, The Staten Island Advance, The Newark Star-Ledger, The Record in Bergen County, N.J., The Greenwich (CT) Time and The Advocate in Stamford.

"This partnership will help increase PARADE's visibility in the important New York market, while providing extra value to our newspaper partners in the region," says PARADE Publisher Randy Siegel. "At the same time, WABC gets a terrific talent in Sandy Kenyon."

As part of PARADE Radio, PARADE's exclusive radio service, Kenyon also delivers entertainment reports 18 times a day on 1010 WINS-AM in New York City. He is also heard daily in Boston, Detroit and San Francisco. In addition to his work as on-air PARADE talent, Sandy covers the entertainment industry for the magazine. His latest article on Academy Award hosts appears this Sunday in PARADE.

Kenyon has reported from backstage at the Academy Awards, the Grammy's and the Tony Awards. He spent 10 years as CNN's Senior Entertainment Correspondent, based in Hollywood, where he was perhaps best known as the voice of "The Hollywood Minute." He has interviewed such stars as Frank Sinatra, Julia Roberts, Elizabeth Taylor, Clint Eastwood, Warren Beatty, Steven Spielberg and Paul McCartney, to name just a few.
