Pampers(R) Honors the Best Performances by Babies in Film
Parents Can Log On to Pampers.com to Win a Chance to Create Their Own Movie Starring Their Child
CINCINNATI, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- With the film awards season upon us, Pampers, a trusted name in baby and toddler care, is announcing a twist -- the best performances by babies in film! Selected from family-friendly flicks over the past 25 years, Pampers is honoring the best performances based on the developmental stages these babies and toddlers have brought to life through their memorable performances in film.
Along with honoring the best babies in film, Pampers also is giving parents an opportunity to create an online digital movie of their own little "star." By logging on to www.pampers.com/babystar, parents can enter a sweepstakes for a chance to make their own online digital movie to capture, share and remember the changes that their child has gone through in the various stages of development.
"Pampers not only focuses on the changing needs of babies, but the joy that they bring to our lives," said Tina Maloney, Marketing Director, North America Pampers, Baby and Toddler Care, and mother of three. "The 'My Baby's a Star' sweepstakes on Pampers.com is a great opportunity for parents to celebrate and share their baby's milestones with their loved ones."

Memorable Scenes
"Nine Months": In this adorable scene, new dad Samuel is holding his newborn baby boy close to his chest and comforting him. At this stage of life, babies respond positively to touch and like to be comforted and swaddled, which helps to calm them and give them a sense of security. This cuddling performance earns the newborn baby the "Best Performance by a Swaddler" Award.
"Ice Age": In this animated film, the baby is crawling around his new surroundings while his new friends, Sid the sloth and Manfred the mammoth, look on. The baby, in this heartwarming film, is enjoying the thrill of discovering movement and the freedom associated with it. At this stage, babies are discovering the world around them by crawling and cruising everywhere. This performance earns the baby the "Best Performance by a Cruiser" Award.
"Baby Boom": In this favorite film, toddler Elizabeth gets down from the couch and surprises a guest by walking over to his chair and playing peek-a-boo with his newspaper when he was not expecting to see a baby in the house. In this stage, toddlers are taking their first steps and exploring their surroundings. In this mode of constant exploration and movement, it may be easier for parents to change diapers while their child is standing, since it can be difficult to get busy toddlers to lie down. Through achieving this milestone in learning how to walk, Elizabeth earns the "Most Memorable First Steps" Award.
"Cheaper By The Dozen": In this scene, twins Nigel and Kyle are learning how to pour dog food into their dog's bowl. The twins are practicing this together and making mistakes while doing it. In this stage, it's common for toddlers to practice such things as trying to get dressed or tie their shoes, and to make mistakes while doing it, which is how they learn. In their persistent performances, Nigel and Kyle earn the "Best Performances in the Easy Ups Category" Award.
"Mr. Mom": In this family film, little Megan is learning to use the potty all by herself with the help and encouragement of her dad. At ages two and older, toddlers are becoming empowered to do things on their own with the encouragement of their parents. With this performance, Megan earns the "Best Potty Training Performance in the Feel 'n Learn Category" Award.
"What's really wonderful about these films is how well they capture the essence of who children are and the stages they go through as they develop," says Armin Brott, parenting expert, radio show host, and author of more than six best-selling parenting books including "The New Father" and "A Dad's Guide to the Toddler Years." "And now, through www.pampers.com, parents have a chance to make a movie of their own, filled with special memories of their baby."
