New AtmosFEAR Comes to Morey's Piers in Wildwood; One of Four Additional Rides for 2005

WILDWOOD, N.J., Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- In May 2005, Morey's Piers will debut AtmosFEAR, the tallest, fastest, and most intense drop tower ride in New Jersey. Designed and manufactured by Larson International and A.R.M. Incorporated, the ride can only be described as intense. AtmosFEAR features a height of 140 feet and a freefall speed exceeding 45 MPH - creating a vertical acceleration of 3Gs!

Once on board, guests will experience an excruciatingly slow ascent, accented by custom lighting and thunderous sound effects. As the vehicle climbs, fog fills the air and the ground suddenly seems farther away than expected. Without warning, the vehicle is released and literally forced downward by a special launch system. Within seconds, fail safe magnetic brakes bring the vehicle to a smooth stop.

Morey's Piers is located on the Boardwalk in Wildwood, New Jersey, and consists of three amusement piers and two beachfront waterparks. Morey's Piers amusements are located on Spencer Avenue, Schellenger Avenue and 25th Avenue; Raging Waters waterparks are located on Schellenger Avenue and 25th Avenue. Morey's Piers does not charge an admission fee; visitors have the option to pay by the ride or purchase an all day ride pass. Raging Waters waterparks offer several admission plans including an all day pass for both parks or a three-hour pass for one park. Ticket prices range from $35 for a book of 50 ride tickets to $44 for an adult combination ride and waterpark pass on the weekend.
