Alda, Allen, Baldwin, Fonda, Montgomery and Morris to Present at American Society of Cinematographers Awards

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Alan Alda, Debbie Allen, Alec Baldwin, Peter Fonda, Poppy Montgomery and Kathryn Morris have been announced as presenters at the 19th Annual American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) Outstanding Achievement Awards gala here on Sunday, February 13, at the Grand Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland.

"There is a special chemistry between actors and cinematographers that is hard to explain," says Owen Roizman, ASC, chairman of the organization's Awards Committee. "It means a lot to our members to have these talented filmmakers with us on this magical night."

The evening will include the presentation of the ASC Outstanding Achievement Award in Feature Film. This year's nominees are Dion Beebe, ASC, ACS and Paul Cameron for COLLATERAL, Caleb Deschanel, ASC for THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST, Bruno Delbonnel, AFC for A VERY LONG ENGAGEMENT, Pawel Edelman, PSC for RAY, and Robert Richardson, ASC for THE AVIATOR.

ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards will also be presented in three narrative television categories.

Additionally, the organization will honor Fred Koenekamp, ASC (PATTON, THE TOWERING INFERNO) with a Lifetime Achievement Award, and pay tribute to producer-director Gil Cates, film critic-commentator Leonard Maltin, Panavision co-founder/cinematographer Richard Moore, ASC (ANNIE, WINNING), and renowned Italian cinematographer Tonino Delli Colli, AIC (LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL, THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY).

The ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards were inaugurated in 1986 for the purpose of providing a forum for recognizing and inspiring artistic achievement in cinematography. ASC was chartered in 1919 by cinematographers dedicated to the art and craft of filmmaking. There are currently some 275 members from many countries around the world, and another 140 associates in allied fields.
