Midwest Actors Train for Broadway and Hollywood

Alan Nusbaum to Teach Business of Acting to Local Actors

CHICAGO, Feb. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Joan Cusak, John Mahoney, and Gary Sinise -- Midwesterners with successful careers. This Friday local actors discover how to add their name to this list. Chief Executive Officer Alan S. Nusbaum, of TVI Actors Studio, the nation's largest acting school and resource center for actors, will work with local actors to teach them how to market themselves not only in Chicago, but also on Broadway and in Hollywood.

"Most actors come from an artistic background," said Nusbaum. "They should approach their careers as a business. They need to be entrepreneurs, or what I like to call 'actor-preneurs.'"

Nusbaum created TVI Actors Studio after representing several actors such as Sandra Bullock, Courtney Cox, Jerry Orbach, and Tonya Pinkens. "I saw that most actors entering the profession were not sure how to translate their training into a career. Actors come away from my class with the knowledge and insight on how to market oneself daily in order to make it in the larger markets."
