GSI Commerce Names Stephen J. Gold as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., Feb. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- GSI Commerce Inc. (NASDAQ:GSIC) today announced it has named Stephen J. Gold to the position of executive vice president and chief information officer (CIO). Gold will oversee the company's technology and information services (TIS) organization and will report to Robert Blyskal, the company's co-president and chief operating officer.
Gold has more than 25 years experience in the design, implementation, operation and support of large-scale technology projects and associated businesses. Prior to joining GSI Commerce, Gold served as the corporate vice president of U.S. Human Health Information Services for Merck & Company Inc. supporting more than $15 billion per year in revenue. Prior to his position with Merck & Co., Gold spent 10 years managing more than 1,600 people in the technology organization of Medco Health Solutions, one of the largest prescription benefit management firms in the United States, most recently as a senior vice president and chief information officer. Gold graduated with highest honors from St. John's University. He is married and has two children.
