Entrepreneurial in Later Life

Entrepreneurial in Later Life

READING, England, February 4/PRNewswire/ --

- Over 50s - The Best Entrepreneurs!

- Startling Survey Results

Leading over 50s web site laterlife.com's recent survey on work and
retirement reveals a surprisingly high proportion of over 50s (59% of men and
56% of women still working), are keen to use their knowledge and skills to
start their own business or participate in a start-up in later life.

To address this need Business Link Berkshire and Wiltshire's Enterprise
Roadshow 2005 includes an event on Feb 24th in Salisbury, specifically
focused on starting a business in later life.

This takes place a year to the day after laterlife.com and Business Link
Berkshire and Wiltshire first ran a highly successful 'Entrepreneurial in
later life' event.

laterlife.com director Tony Clack himself started laterlife.com in 1999
when over 50, which he now runs with the involvement of a number of
associates in the over-50s age group.

Tony comments - "Entrepreneurial ventures started by over 50s are more
likely to succeed than the average business start-up and we believe that
there is an enormous opportunity for individuals and the economy in
harnessing the capability and high level of interest among this age group to
start their own businesses".

"There is wide recognition that things must change within companies with
respect to working in later life and one facet of this is the forthcoming Age
Discrimination legislation in 2006. Essential though it is, it is our view
that the other side of the coin should be action by Government to create a
positive environment for today's much more active over 50s to start new
businesses and reap the rewards of all the skills and talent which is
currently being wasted. This is a real opportunity which can have a huge
impact".

The 'Later life' Enterprise Roadshow event is aimed at those in later
life who are either interested in starting their own business, or have
recently started up a business. The event aims to both inform participants
through formal sessions and to bring together like minded people.

The full agenda and details of how to register for the event can be found
