Players Win More Than $1.7 Million in Mega Millions; Estimated Jackpot for Tuesday's Drawing Advances to $12 Million

MEGA MILLIONS, Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Mega Millions players throughout the 11 participating states won a total of $1,764,695 in Friday's drawing. There were 303,913 tickets that won prizes ranging from $2 up to $175,000. Since no ticket matched all six numbers to win the jackpot, the estimated jackpot for the Tuesday, January 25, 2005 drawing advances to $12 million.

The winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing were: 17-27-39-40-41 and the Mega Ball number was 21.

Two tickets came close to winning the jackpot in Friday's drawing. Each of these tickets matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number to win $175,000. The two tickets were sold in New Jersey (1) and New York (1). There were also 20 tickets that matched four numbers plus the Mega Ball number to each win $5,000.
