Oryx Quest 2005, One of the Most Prestigious and Spectacular Around-The-World Yachting Events, Purchases Patented Communication Solution From Pilotfish
GOTHENBURG, Sweden, January 26/PRNewswire/ -- Oryx Quest 2005 purchases the positioning and communication solution for
the official race website from the Swedish company Pilotfish.
Pilotfish's role is to provide the communication system that gathers the
position and speed of the boats and presents the information on the official
race website. The patented product, seaKey(TM) Racing has previously been
used for numerous international sailing events, including Volvo Ocean Race,
Gotland Runt and Tjörn Runt, as well as for professional sailing consortia
such as Cap Gemini and Kingfisher.
seaKey(TM) Racing is designed to endure the extremely harsh conditions
that the events impose. The system manages communication in a most efficient
and reliable way, using advanced algorithms and multiple communication
channels to handle disruption of network coverage. It is capable of operating
in tough physical environments with great temperature variations, water
intrusion, wave impacts, and power failures.
"The Oryx Quest contract confirms that Pilotfish is on the right track to
become world leaders in providing communication gateways for demanding and
communication intensive environments," states Mattias Fredriksson, CEO of
Pilotfish.
