Online Magazine to Serve as Portal for State of the Union Blog Activity

www.TechCentralStation.com (TCS) Will Connect Public to the Best 'Live-Bloggers' During the Upcoming Presidential State of the Union

WASHINGTON, Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- During President Bush's upcoming State of the Union address, TechCentralStation.com (TCS), an online magazine, will serve as the gateway to bloggers who will be analyzing and commenting on the president's speech in real time or "live-blogging." TCS will be a "one stop shop" of links to live-bloggers posting their personal views, knowledge and perspectives on their Web sites as the speech unfolds.

"TCS believes that live-blogging is a beneficial and necessary trend," said Nick Schulz, editor of TCS. "For the first time, viewers will have access to political analysis while the speech is happening, and these bloggers will be linking to other bloggers, enabling the public to gain a far wider range and scope of feedback and analysis than they would find with traditional media."

Although blogs, short for weblogs, were unheard of a few years ago, Schulz stressed their growing importance in mainstream media. The Associated Press stated recently, "[Blogs] are engaging established media in keyboard-to- keyboard combat that's benefiting public discourse and making the journalism 'franchises' more accountable ... if you don't know what blogging is by now and you're reading this in a newspaper please fold it up and boot up your computer. You're missing a revolution."

"Politically interested Americans watching the president's State of the Union speech are usually subjected to the post-speech spin and analysis on the networks and cable news channels, as well as the major newspaper coverage the following day. But, the Internet now empowers Americans to take an active part in this process through live-blogging," continued Schulz.

TCS provides news, analysis, research, and commentary focused on how free markets and technology are changing and shaping the world. Shulz said TCS prides itself on being cutting edge and has a reputation of being innovative, so being a part of the blogging phenomenon was a natural step.

"Our goal is to provide our audience with a 'one stop shop' of links to live-bloggers offering helpful and interesting commentary, not to mention that this is an excellent opportunity to encourage those unfamiliar with blogs to come visit the site to see what they're all about," Shulz added.
