Fire Brigades Union Response to Exclusion of Black and Ethnic Minority Members from Football Association DVD

LONDON, January 28/PRNewswire/ -- The English Football Association's initial decision to exclude
black players from their historical film was a huge insult to all black
professional footballers and to the black community at large.



This action only serves to undermine the contribution that
black players have made to the national game over many decades. That it
happened when the Kick Racism Out campaign is challenging racist attitudes
and behaviour makes it even worse.



However, we acknowledge the FA's action in realising their
mistake, issuing a full apology and withdrawing the offending DVD. We look
forward to viewing the new version of this historical DVD which promises to
show the contribution that talented black players have made to the national
sport.
