Omnicom and I.P.G. Battle for Top Awards in 2005 AME Awards for Advertising and Marketing Effectiveness
NEW YORK, Jan. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2005 AME Awards for advertising and marketing effectiveness, the only truly international awards competition of their kind, were presented during the New York Festivals Advertising Awards Ceremony at the Hudson Theatre in New York tonight. The Grand Awards were presented by Jim Ferguson, Chairman and Chief Creative Director of Temerlin McClain, Irving, Texas.
The AME Grand Award for the Best Product or Service Campaign went to DDB International in Berlin for their campaign for the Volkswagen Polo, 'Small But Tough.'
The AME Grand Award for Best Use of Media of Discipline was awarded to McCann Erickson in New York for the television advertising element of their 'Priceless' campaign.
A total of 16 Gold AME Medallions were presented, with IPG network shops McCann Erickson and Campbell Ewald claiming six of them. In addition to their 'Priceless' television advertising campaign, McCann Erickson New York also won in the Youth Marketing category with a specially-targeted 'Priceless' campaign. McCann Erickson Tel Aviv won for their 'PAZ' gas station retailers campaign; McCann Erickson Detroit won for their Delphi Automotive Products campaign; and McCann Erickson Madrid won in Soft Drinks with their 'Chihuahua' campaign for Coca Cola. Campbell Ewald won Gold for their Integrated Marketing campaign for Chevrolet, 'An American Revolution.'
In addition to DDB International, Omnicom shop TBWA\ in Berlin also won Gold with their highly successful Haagen Dazs campaign; and BBDO shops in Atlanta and New York also won Silver and Bronze Medallions.
Judging of the around 300 entries in the 2005 AME Awards was held in London, Sweden, Brazil and Spain. Of the 16 Gold Medallions awarded, five went to US shops, five to agencies in Germany, and one each to campaigns from Israel, Singapore, Spain and the United Kingdom.
