IDG's PC World Unveils Winners of the 2005 Digital World Innovations Awards

Fifteen Products and Services Set the Standard for Ingenuity and Creativity

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Earlier this week, Digital World announced the winners of the 2005 Digital World Innovations Awards. From the award-winning editors of PC World, Digital World's February 2005 issue showcases groundbreaking items that transcend the boundaries of the computer and consumer electronics as well as push the limits of technology. These devices help define industry standards and raise the threshold for what is considered inspired and unique. Polybagged with PC World's February 2005 issue, Digital World will be on newsstands January 18, 2005, and is available online now.

"The Digital World Innovations Awards are exceptional because they honor the technology that powers our lives -- products that effectively combine originality and performance in the world of convergence," said Harry McCracken, editor in chief of PC World and Digital World. "These benchmark, breakthrough items are all standouts among the competition."

This is the second year PC World, now through Digital World, has awarded products that have boldly explored the world of digital entertainment products, consumer electronics, and wireless communications. Editors looked beyond just trendsetting devices, also considering progressive design and function before narrowing the field to the 15 winners that distinguished themselves from the pack. The awards will be presented at the ShowStoppers Media Reception, a by invitation only event, on January 6, 2005 at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas during CES. The complete list of winners follows:
