Genoa Color Technologies Presents Breakthrough LCD, LCOS Apps and More at 2005 CES in Las Vegas

HERZLIA PITUACH, Israel, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Genoa Color Technologies, winner of the Grand Award in the Home Entertainment category of Popular Science magazine's 2004 Best Of What's New competition, will be demonstrating its ColorPeak(TM) MPC (multi-primary color) system in popular television formats at the 2005 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nev., January 6 through 9 (booth number 20666).

ColorPeak MPC technology will be demonstrated on an LCD television, a combination that Genoa spokespersons say represents the decisive improvement that finally wins greater acceptance for LCD TVs. "Our demonstration shows that LCD panels enhanced by ColorPeak have a picture that will provide the performance edge -- the 'killer app' if you will -- that will make these flat panel TVs irresistible," said Hafiz Haq, Genoa executive vice president.

Genoa is also combining resources with MicroDisplay Corporation and Uneed Systems to create a demonstration model television that Genoa spokesman Simon Lewis says, "compares with the best-in-class rear-projection TV displays." Assembled specifically for CES 2005, the exhibit comprises two 43-inch rear projection high-definition (1280 x 720 pixel) televisions manufactured by Uneed and LCOS (Liquid Crystal On Silicon) panels provided by MicroDisplay.

To highlight the display-enhancing capabilities of Genoa's technology, one set will feature the unique ColorPeak system and the other conventional RGB (red, blue, green). Lewis said that the "ColorPeak will show a noticeably larger color gamut and a 50 percent increase in brightness."

In a similar comparison test and survey conducted in November at Popular Science magazine's Best of What's New exhibition in New York's Grand Central Terminal, 905 of 928 respondents (97.5 percent) overwhelmingly preferred the video display enabled by ColorPeak over the one using conventional RGB technology.

"We hope that our industry colleagues will visit us at CES to see the future of color television," said Ilan Ben-David, Genoa's founder and CEO. "We are proud of what we've accomplished and look forward to 2005 as Genoa's most exciting year yet."
