Southwest Airlines Offers Hot Fares From the Northeast to Sunny Florida; Internet-Only Fares of Only $49 One-Way

DALLAS, Dec. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Fly away from the cold Northeast winter to warm and sunny Florida on Southwest Airlines (NYSE:LUV) with hot Internet-only airfares of $49 one-way with seven-day advance purchase. "By making Southwest's low fares to Florida even lower, we are making it even easier for our Northeast Customers to get away from the snow and into the sun," said Joyce Rogge, Southwest's senior vice president of marketing. "This is a great opportunity for a vacation at the beginning of the New Year."

Examples of the low $49 one-way fares are between Baltimore/Washington and Tampa Bay, between Philadelphia and Orlando, between the Boston area (via Manchester and Providence) and West Palm Beach, between Hartford/Springfield and Orlando, between Albany and West Palm Beach, and between Buffalo and Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood.

Fare Rules

Fares are available one-way and are combinable with all other fares. If combining with other fares, the most restrictive fare's rules apply. The fares are available for purchase through Jan. 16, 2005, and are valid for travel from Jan. 3, 2005, through Feb. 17, 2005. Tickets must be purchased at least seven days before departure. Seats are limited. Fares may not be available on some flights that operate during very busy travel times. Fares do not include a $3.20 federal segment tax per takeoff and landing. Fares do not include airport-assessed passenger facility charges (PFC) of up to $9 one- way and U.S. government-imposed September 11th Security Fees of up to $5 one- way. Fares are subject to change until ticketed. Tickets are nonrefundable but may be applied toward the purchase of future travel on Southwest Airlines. Fares are valid on published, scheduled service only and are not available through the Group Desk. Any change in itinerary may result in an increase in fare.
