Perot Systems and CHW Win Awards for Top Consumer Medical Web Site

Perot Systems' Web Development Services Capture Best Site Design and Best Content for CHW

PLANO, Texas, Dec. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Perot Systems Corporation (NYSE:PER), and its customer Catholic Healthcare West (CHW), today announced that the two organizations have won eHealthcare Leadership Awards in the categories of Best Site Design and Best Health/Healthcare Content.

Perot Systems and CHW received Silver Awards in both categories from eHealthcare Strategy & Trends for http://www.stmarysmedicalcenter.org/ , a new consumer Web site for St. Mary's Medical Center, based in San Francisco. The award-winning site was created using Perot Systems' integrated methodology and processes for Web site creation, which include Project Management, Technology, Business Analysis, and User Experience.

St. Mary's was the first site to launch as part of Perot Systems' Web design and development engagement for the San Francisco-based health system. Perot Systems' goal was to deliver a flexible and scalable Internet presence to CHW's facilities that provided content autonomy at the hospital level, and greater customer support services. One third of CHW's 40 facilities have launched new Web sites, with the remainder launching by the end of this year.

Each CHW hospital Web site offers users a wealth of tools and information that provides up-to-the-minute health information, classes and events, and a robust physician finder.

In July 2001, CHW and Perot Systems signed a 10-year, full-service information technology outsourcing agreement that included a conversion to standard, best-fit administrative, clinical, patient management, and strategic systems. "The new Web portal meets our strategic IT goals," said Dwayne Paul, vice president, ITS Business Services for CHW. "Perot Systems' integrated approach achieves cost effectiveness and enables us to meet multiple-facility web development requirements."
