Linksys Receives PC Magazine's Readers' Choice Award for Home Networking Routers

Linksys Receives Highest Overall Rating as Well as Highest Ratings for Likelihood of Recommending!

IRVINE, Calif., Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Linksys(R), a division of Cisco Systems, Inc., and the leading global manufacturer of broadband, wireless, and networking hardware for home, Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) and Small Business environments, today announced that it has been honored with a Readers' Choice Award by PC Magazine in the 17th Annual Readers Satisfaction Survey released this week on www.PCmag.com. Linksys was honored by PC Magazine readers in the category of Home Networking Routers.

The Readers Satisfaction Survey which included responses from more than 5,500 PC Magazine readers that had a wired or wireless router in their home. Of these respondents, over 2,500 readers had a Linksys router. The survey asked respondents to give their home networking router an overall rating on a scale of 1 to 10 (where 1 equals poor and 10 equals excellent), as well as on their reliability, technical support, percentage of products needing repair and likelihood of recommending the product. Then an overall score was calculated and weighed from the amount of total respondents. The Linksys overall score was an 8.1 which compares to a 7.8 from the next closest Home Networking competitor.

According to PC Magazine's article on the survey, the router competition was not even close this year: Linksys received better than average ratings in nearly every subcategory including "performance," "security," "user interface," "documentation," "overall reliability," and "likelihood of recommending."
