Automation Alley Presents 'Fast Track to Success' Keynote: 'Rising from the Ashes: A Tale of dot.com Death and dot.com Profit'

TROY, Mich., Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Automation Alley, Southeast Michigan's technology cluster, will host Garth Graham, ABN AMRO Mortgage Group (AAMG) senior vice president, Strategic Technology and eCommerce, as its "Fast Track to Success" keynote speaker. "Rising from the Ashes: A Tale of dot.com Death and dot.com Profit" will contrast Graham's experience at a failed technology company with his success at AAMG, providing Fast Track attendees with valuable, business-boosting techniques and tactics.

"Automation Alley is pleased to offer Garth Graham's unparalleled experience and expertise as a learning tool that can help put businesses on the 'Fast Track to Success,'" said Ken Rogers, executive director, Automation Alley. "From one of the top 10 IPOs of 1999, at the height of the dot.com frenzy, to dot.bomb, to true dot.com success, Graham's experience is truly unique. His candid keynote address will offer Fast Track attendees actionable, real-world tactics to create a profitable, best-in-class organization."

Graham's keynote address, "Rising from the Ashes: A Tale of dot.com Death and dot.com Profit" will offer "Fast Track to Success" attendees unique insight into the world of technology-based business, including invaluable lessons learned from his experience at Mortgage.com as well as best practices he's implemented for AAMG's mortage.com.

Graham's technology savvy is rooted in his robust experience in technology business development. Graham, who was previously part of the executive management team of Mortgage.com , oversees AAMG's business-to-business (MOAI.com) and business-to-consumers (mortgage.com) Web sites.

As part of Mortgage.com's executive management team, Graham was instrumental in the company's strategy, marketing and operations. Graham was a member of the executive team that issued Mortgage.com's $60 million IPO in 1999. Even with that solid foundation, Mortgage.com was out of business 13 months after its IPO.

The mortgage.com URL was purchased by AAMG in 2000, and Graham was asked to use his dot.bomb experience to create a successful business-to-consumer Web channel. AAMG re-launched mortgage.com in December 2000. Since then, its business has grown significantly; mortgage.com generates over $100 million a month in mortgage loans, resulting in annual profits of $50 million.

Anyone who is interested in getting their business on the "Fast Track to Success" is invited to attend. The event will be held from 7:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. on January 26, 2005 at the MSU Management Education Center in Troy, Michigan. Registration is $35 for Automation Alley and GLIMA members, $40 for non- members. To register or for more information, please visit http://www.automationalley.com/ or (800) 427-5100.
