VH1 Series '(Inside)OUT: The Rise of Velvet Revolver' Set to Premiere Wednesday, December 1 at 9:00 pm ET/PT*
NEW YORK, Nov. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- VELVET REVOLVER -- with one of rock's most charismatic front men Scott Weiland (formerly of Stone Temple Pilots), guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, drummer Matt Sorum (former members of one of rock's greatest groups Guns N' Roses), and guitarist Dave Kushner (ex- Wasted Youth, Electric Love Hogs) -- have truly exploded this year. Their debut album Contraband (RCA), which entered the Billboard album chart at #1, quickly achieved platinum status -- spurred by two #1 rock singles "Slither" and "Fall To Pieces" -- and earned the distinction of becoming the biggest- selling rock album to be released in 2004. But the group's back story is one of the most interesting in all of rock, as viewers will get to see in VH1's newest installment of its "(Inside)OUT" series, "(Inside)OUT: The Rise of Velvet Revolver," premieres on Wednesday, December 1 at 9:00 pm ET/PT*.
The special documents the ups and downs of Velvet Revolver for over one year: from the applicant screenings in their initial search for a lead singer to the video shoot of their first single "Slither." Viewers will experience their first live performance and hear intimate interviews with the band members.
After eight months of not finding a worthy front man, the group is running out of time and patience. When Scott Weiland of the Stone Temple Pilots rehearses, they instantly know that they have found their guy! But just when they are about to kick their musical engine into full throttle, they hit a speed bump when Scott is arrested. Instead of giving up on the singer that solidified their vision, the group bands together, remaining loyal to their friend and band mate, determined to stick together.
