Fifth Wall Street Dead aHead Networking Event(TM) Is Sold Out - Over Allotment?
NEW YORK, Aug. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Fifth Wall Street Dead aHead Networking Event(TM) (WSDaH), set for 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, is officially sold out!
Dissatisfied with traditional networking events, money manager and Grateful Dead aficionado Deborah Solomon envisioned an entirely new networking paradigm. Putting her vision into plans and then into action, she founded WSDaH Events three years ago. Ms. Solomon's idea was to bring together and introduce her long-established collection of friends who work on "the Street" and whom she would also encounter at shows, while inviting other open-minded folks to join in to network as well. Ms. Solomon's vision has successfully resonated, considering the fact that participation demand has grown event-over-event--with each event selling out earlier than the prior and waiting lists growing substantially every time.
As unique as Ms. Solomon, WSDaH events are characterized by the collective blending of music best characterized as "jam-band", with lots of networking between Wall Streeters and other business people taking place in a very relaxed atmosphere. As attendees mix their love of music with creating connections, each is able to add new contacts to their rolodexes that can significantly enhance their careers and work.
Making the event not just fun but immensely valuable, Ms. Solomon offers participants a "Set List" that provides each registered participant with the contact information of the other attendees, and their favorite Grateful Dead song. This interesting touch gives participants a perfect conversation-starter in post-event follow-up as they pose the fondly recalled questions from an early Grateful Dead album liner note: "Who are you? Where are you?"
Considering the recent sellout of the Grateful Dead Reunion Shows, what might have been a high-risk career move by starting these events, has proven to be a brilliant idea in high demand. Ms. Solomon states: "I was often surprised to find out that the Wall Street counterparts I was negotiating with during my workdays were standing next to me at Dead shows."
"My love for the Grateful Dead and music in general has been an invaluable conversation-starter that has helped me form many of my very long-term business relationships with people I can truly count as friends. I'm 'grateful' that others have been so receptive and responsive with mutual enthusiasm, which is clearly being demonstrated by another sold-out event," adds Ms. Solomon.
The October 20(th) WSDaH Event will be held at Tir Na Nog, located at 315 West 39th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues in New York City. It will feature a concert by The Deadbeats; open-bar beer and wine with specialty cocktails; appetizers and sponsor bags with attendance rosters.
The Rex Foundation has been selected by Ms. Solomon as the Affiliate Charity for this Event. Members of the Grateful Dead, along with their friends and families, founded Rex to further the band's long-established tradition of generosity. Supporting programs that might otherwise be overlooked by mainstream funders, they offer unsolicited small grants, generally in the $5,000 range, to organizations doing innovative grassroots work in environment, education, arts for youth, social services, building community and other areas aligned with the Rex mission. Since 1984, the Rex Foundation has granted $8.9 million to more than 1,200 recipients.
