Hearst Television Stations Earn Five National Edward R. Murrow Awards
KETV, Omaha, Receives Coveted Overall Excellence Award in Its Market Category
NEW YORK, June 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Hearst Television Inc. stations WCVB-TV, Boston, KCRA-TV, Sacramento, KCCI-TV, Des Moines, KETV, Omaha, and WPTZ-TV/WNNE-TV, Burlington/Plattsburgh, have been honored with national Edward R. Murrow Awards, given by the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA).
WCVB was honored for "Best Newscast" in the Television (Large Market) category for its "Revere Tornado" coverage. KCRA earned the award for "Breaking News" in the Television (Large Market) category, for coverage of the shooting deaths of two deputy sheriffs last fall and the subsequent manhunt from Sacramento to Auburn. KCCI was honored for "Writing" (Small Market) for its "This is Iowa" segments hosted by anchor Eric Hanson. KETV earned the honor of "Overall Excellence" (Small Market). WPTZ/WNNE was honored for "Continuing Coverage" (Small Market) for its series on Vermont's Department of Children and Family Services.

The latest national Murrow Awards follow 29 regional Murrow Awards earned this year by Hearst Television stations, in addition to numerous other regional honors including Associated Press Broadcasters Awards.
