Acorn International Announces Resignation of a Director

SHANGHAI, Feb. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Acorn International, Inc. (NYSE: ATV) ("Acorn" or the "Company"), a media and branding company in China engaged in developing, promoting and selling products through extensive direct and distribution networks, today announced that Mr. Jing Wang ("Mr. Wang") has tendered his resignation as a member of the Company's Board of Directors, by a letter delivered to the Company, effective February 4, 2015. Mr. Wang has served as a director of the Company since April 1, 2011 until his resignation and also served on the Audit Committee and Compensation Committee.

Mr. Wang is stepping down to have more time to focus on his primary position as senior vice president at Baidu Inc., a leading Chinese language Internet search provider, and confirmed that his resignation was not the result of any disagreement with the Company.
