Love and Theft to Headline "District Country" Concert Feb. 21 at DC's National Press Club
WASHINGTON, Dec. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- National country music hit makers Love and Theft and Trailer Choir are coming to downtown Washington, DC February 21, 2015 for the first-ever "District Country" concert to be held at the legendary National Press Club.
"The National Press Club has hosted live performances from the likes of Billy Joel, James Taylor, Dolly Parton and Louis Armstrong over the past one-hundred years," said National Press Club Executive Director William McCarren. "We are excited to welcome these modern country acts to our unique and intimate venue. It will be a great night for country music fans and for The National Press Club."
General Admission tickets for this triple-header performance are just $55. VIP Tickets, which include exclusive meet & greets with the artists backstage, and an acoustic pre-show performance, are $100. With a capacity of less than 800 in the National Press Club Ballroom, tickets are expected to sell out quickly.
Tickets will go on sale at 10:00am EST on Friday Dec. 12 at www.press.org/districtcountry. A portion of the proceeds from the concert will go to The National Press Club Journalism Institute scholarship fund, which helps students pursuing journalism and communications as a career.
Love and Theft has several hits to date, including the #1 "Angel Eyes", along with "Runaway", and "Night That You'll Never Forget". Their newest release, "Whiskey on My Breath," is the first single off their third album due out February 10(th).
Trailer Choir has charted four songs in U.S. Country Top 50 including "Shakin' that Tailgate" and "Rockin' the Beer Gut," which proved motivation for band member "Big Vinny" Hickerson to finish as a runner-up in NBC's hit weight loss reality show, "The Biggest Loser."
The Club is currently also in discussion with an exciting second act to be announced shortly.
"We have this incredible venue with an amazing history. It just made sense," said Christopher Hamrick for District Country. "The DC area loves music, and fans in this area travel hours in different directions to get access to country's finest. So we thought, why not give them a taste of it downtown?"
Concert goers must be 21 or older to attend. The National Press Club is located at 529 14(th) Street, NW (14(th) & F Streets), one block from Metro Center.
