January's Shag Classic, a three-day charity event benefitting women with cancer and their families, showcases elite recipients of beach music's 2014 CAMMY Awards, including Male Vocalist of the Year, Entertainer of the Year, Group of the Year, and Best Live Production Award. CAMMYs are presented each year in Myrtle Beach at the Carolina(s) Beach Music Awards (CBMA).

The East Coast Shag Classic opens Thursday night, January 29, with CBMA's Best Live Production Award winner, Band of Oz, featuring a full horn section in the dynamic eight-member group. The Embers, a beach music institution featuring Male Vocalist of the Year Craig Woolard, headlines the entertainment on Friday, January 30.

Saturday's musical marathon and dance spans afternoon through late night hours with Entertainer of the Year Jim Quick and Coastline, Group of the Year The Entertainers, and Saturday's Late Night Dance Party with DJs Joey Warren and Ken Jones.

Weekend emcee is Joey Warren - "The Little Man of Beach Music" - widely known by fans from live appearances and as morning personality on CBMA's Internet Station of the Year, YourBeachMusic.com.

From the expert to the aspiring dancer, preeminent instructors Ken and Sandy Jones will provide shag and line dance lessons. Rubber shoes? No problem. Smooth, leather-bottom shoes, for easier turns and sliding, will be available on-site from Shoe Center.

Festivities for 2014's East Coast Shag Classic come to an inspiring close on Sunday with The Gospel Train, hosted by Joey Warren and The Big Kahuna, of The Big Kahuna's Beach Party and Sunday Morning Gospel Train.

Proceeds from the 4(th) Annual East Coast Shag Classic fund the mission of Women of Hope, a nonprofit organization providing a wide-range of free services to improve the quality of life for female cancer patients and their families. In the U.S., there are 7.6 million living women who have ever been diagnosed with the 10 most common types of cancer, according to the American Cancer Society.

"We cherish the fact that we can be a part of their lives, providing support and encouragement to face the journey, and most important to provide hope," said Elizabeth Barnes, Co-founder and Executive Director of Women of Hope.

Holiday Inn Resort will host The 4(th) Annual East Coast Shag Classic.
