Old St. Patrick's Welcomes Martin Sheen to the Siamsa na nGael Stage to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day

This year's Performance: If It Wasn't for the Irish and the Jews

CHICAGO, Jan. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The 18(th) year of Siamsa na nGael, kicks off St. Patrick's Day week in Chicago in a Celtic celebration of song, dance & story. This year, the voice narrating the story is that of award-winning stage and screen great Martin Sheen. In this years' performance, two great cultural traditions are featured in the program titled, "If It Wasn't for the Irish and the Jews." The evening presents world-class Celtic entertainment and will showcase songs of legendary composers and performers whose immigrant families shared stories of survival and hope that ultimately resonated through generations.

Featured performer, singer and musical historian, Mick Moloney's collaboration of music between Irish and Jewish songwriters exudes passions for the American dream through a touching soundtrack: the songs of Tin Pan Alley.
