Founded by the 18 subsidiary companies that together form Beijing Media Network (BMN) in compliance with the rules and regulations of China's State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT), BRTN is a new radio and television agency whose programs are available via emerging information networks including broadband internet and mobile communications networks, with Beijing Television (BTV) responsible for the build out and day-to-day operations. The website will offer a new viewing experience by integrating the exclusive content and resources of BMN and its global partners to facilitate internet-TV convergence as well as by creating compelling, fact-based yet emotionally gripping programming that can be shared interactively, as represented by the series "Wo Zai Xian Chang" (I am on the Scene). The BTV Big Media app also went live the same day.
The "From Beijing, For the World"-themed ceremony fully leveraged the 360-degree panoramic view at BTV's new media work space, to create an experience that showcases the interactive fun and experience that awaits viewers of future media channels.
The global launch of BRTN (www.brtn.cn; www.btv.com.cn) signals not only BMN's successful elimination of the barriers between different media channels by providing high-quality, timely and accurate information and news as well as interactive services featuring internet-TV convergence and multi-screen interaction via the internet but also BMN's upgrade to a purveyor of programming across all types of media at a critical stage.
