LOS ANGELES, Jan. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Tavis Smiley Show from PRI will feature a stimulating two-hour roundtable discussion on poverty as the centerpiece of its first new show of the year on January 10, 2014.
The roundtable will lay out many important policy issues surrounding poverty and discuss a solution-oriented agenda that includes grass-roots activism. The panelists for the discussion are:

The discussion coincides with the 50(th) anniversary of the War on Poverty, the informal name of several legislative initiatives proposed by President Lyndon B. Johnson during his State of the Union address on January 8, 1964.
The Tavis Smiley Show's new two-hour format is an extension of the eponymous host's commitment to conversations of importance to America.
