Agence France-Presse Partners With Generation Technologies To Deliver News Content

International news agency AFP to deliver breaking news video content directly to US newsrooms via NIMxchange®

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Jan. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Generation Technologies Corporation (GTC) announced today that Agence France-Presse (AFP) has selected GTC to be one of their premium North American content distribution partners for television news syndication. AFP will use GTC's flagship service, NIMxchange, to distribute breaking news video content from around the world directly to television newsrooms across the US.

"NIMxchange's high speed conversions between PAL and NTSC content, extended cloud coverage over Europe, and ability to private-brand AFP content, uniquely positions us to deliver this prestigious and ground breaking news service," says David Cunningham, President of GTC.

AFP video content is available on NIMxchange effective today, giving US newsrooms unprecedented access to breaking international news, gathered from a video production network of over 90 units operating around the world. Since NIMxchange normalizes all European PAL standard content to the US NTSC standard, US television news producers and editors will experience AFP content as if it were shot by one of their own camera crews.

"This partnership allows us to deliver our coverage directly to newsrooms in North America fast enough to meet the demands of the 24 hour news-cycle. We chose NIMxchange because the service specializes in fast-turnaround news and runs on common web-based tools. This offers us a significant market advantage in reach and access," said David Millikin, Director for AFP North America. "Our partnership with Generation Technologies marks a milestone for AFP as we bring world news and events to the fingertips of domestic newsrooms."

Television newsrooms now have access to the highest quality footage, scriptwriting and storytelling from events shaping our world including the Sochi Winter Olympics starting next month and the FIFA World Cup taking place in Rio in July. AFP is recognized worldwide for its unique perspective and ability to get to what's beyond the headlines.

AFP also offers custom services for media clients including special assignments and production assistance in the US and on a worldwide basis.
