With 45 Days to Go Until Game Day, AccuWeather is Tracking Winter Conditions

The new WillitSnow.com, a section of the AccuWeather.com website, provides football fans with regularly updated forecasts in the days leading up to the game

STATE COLLEGE, Pa., Dec. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- With 45 days to go until game day at MetLife Stadium, AccuWeather's www.WillitSnow.com predicts wintery conditions may take the field February 2.

Since the weather plays a pivotal role in outdoor sports, AccuWeather today announced that it has launched www.WillitSnow.com, providing the most accurate forecasts for the game day and all days leading up to it.

In addition to its unique 45-Day Forecast, the microsite also features columns and commentary by some of AccuWeather's most prominent meteorologists, including Bernie Rayno, Elliot Abrams, Henry Margusity and Evan Myers, who will provide their perspectives on the chances for snow on February 2. Other important information such as video forecasts (with plenty of expert analysis), historic weather for the New York region, and related news items are also featured prominently on the site. AccuWeather's new MinuteCast(TM) Minute by Minute Forecast(TM) will also be available on game day, providing highly accurate weather predictions quarter-by-quarter, so fans will know when precipitation will begin and end at the stadium.

"As this pivotal game will be played in an open-air venue in a cold-weather environment, the weather has the potential to make a huge impact on what will be one of the most watched events of the year," said Steven Smith, AccuWeather's Chief Digital Officer. "We know fans, attendees, and officials want to know now if it's going to snow. So that's why we're launching this site to help people prepare--and hopefully get excited for the coming weather as a wildcard for the game itself."

Last August, AccuWeather introduced the first-of-its-kind 45-Day Forecast to help keep the public informed of weather events such as cold snaps or rain storms well beyond the scope of other free forecasts. The forecasts, offered free-of-charge on Accuweather.com and the Accuweather.com mobile website, provide the public with the comprehensive weather information they need to plan events up to a month and a half in the future.

The addition of the 45-Day Forecast to AccuWeather's portfolio is part of its continuing strategy as a leading global digital media company that serves forecasts with Superior Accuracy(TM) to more than one billion people worldwide.

AccuWeather's web and mobile properties provide users with numerous innovative weather and lifestyle forecasts, informing users how weather affects travel, business planning, hobbies such as golfing and sailing, and health conditions such as migraines and allergies. AccuWeather also offers animated and interactive weather radar and satellite maps, broadcast-quality weather videos and news stories, and up-to-date seasonal weather information.
