SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Rdio (www.rdio.com) has released its year-end charts for 2013, showcasing the music that Rdio listeners could not get enough of throughout the year. From Macklemore & Ryan Lewis to Imagine Dragons to Miley Cyrus, the charts capture the most-streamed albums and tracks of 2013 on Rdio. Year-end coverage from Rdio also includes staff picks, predictions for artists to watch in 2014 and Rdio Covers 2013 - a collection of some of the year's most buzzed about indie artists covering the most influential and inescapable tracks of 2013.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis take the lead globally on both the Top Albums and Top Tracks chart, scoring #1 with their critically acclaimed album The Heist and its single "Can't Hold Us," featuring Ray Dalton. Rounding out the top 3 albums globally are Bruno Mars, with Unorthodox Jukebox, and Drake, with Nothing Was the Same. Bruno Mars also comes in at #2 in global track streams with "When I Was Your Man," followed by "We Can't Stop" by Miley Cyrus.

Canada's Top Albums were as diverse as the country itself, with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' The Heist taking the top spot on the Canada Top Albums chart, The Lumineers' self-titled album at #2 and Night Visions from Imagine Dragons coming in at #3. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' collaboration with Ray Dalton, "Can't Hold Us," takes top honors on the Canada Top Tracks chart, followed by The Lumineers hit "Ho Hey" at #2 and Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" at #3. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis scored multiple spots on the Top Tracks, with two Top Tracks in Canada and three Top Tracks in the US.

Rdio Covers 2013 takes on some of these top ranking tracks with a selection of the year's most impactful songs being covered by indie artists that have made their own mark in 2013. Drake's "Hold On, We're Going Home" gets a fresh take from Canadian electropop artist Lights as part of the collection, while Chicago singer/songwriter Nylo offers her reimagination of the Robin Thicke hit "Blurred Lines." Also included in the collection is Hi Fashion taking on Miley Cyrus, Monarchy covering Lorde, and more.

The top charts, including breakdown by countries and genres, are available at rdio.com/2013. In addition to the charts and the Rdio Covers 2013 tracks, the site also features Rdio staff picks of personal favorites along with the Best of Rdio Recommends, presenting highlights from Rdio's monthly recommended listening playlist. Rdio has also put together its 2014 Watch List, featuring artists Rdio predicts to break through in a big way in 2014, including London Grammar, Sevyn Streeter, Jon Pardi, Birdy, Sky Ferreira, Haerts and more.
